Hip Hop dance classes!
Hip Hop is a fusion of movement, executed to Hip Hop music and beats. It encompasses deep historical and social roots. Mrs. Angela’s Hip Hop class blends various styles and movements to introduce concepts of rhythm, choreography, and high-energy performance. Age-appropriate music and choreography are always implemented.
When in class, keep in mind that it is important to continue adhering to guidelines to protect yourself and others while practicing dance. These guidelines include practicing physical distancing, washing your hands, avoiding touching your face and wearing a mask.
Classes:
6-week session (No classes will be held the week of Thanksgiving)
Co-ed classes
Members only, child must be on the Household Member Sheet
It is suggested that students wear clothing that they can comfortably have free range of motion in for this class. Acceptable attire of tank tops, dance tops, tee shirts, sweatpants, dance pants, shorts, athletic wear, etc.

About Our Instructor
Mrs. Angela Franklin-Wilkes has been training in various dance forms since she was a child. She has studied the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical dance, and enjoys learning cultural dance styles for fun. She danced on her high school dance team, earning a high placement award through United Spirit Association, and performed in the halftime show at the Hula Bowl in Maui. She then went on to dance with her college teams at American River College and Sacramento State University. During her senior year at Sacramento State, Angela and her team placed first in the Collegiate National Championships, Hip Hop Division. Angela earned an undergraduate degree from Sacramento State University in Family Studies and minored in Early Childhood Education. She worked for a decade as an infant teacher, preschool teacher, and previously owned and operated a licensed family childcare home. Angela danced as a professional performer with HIP Entertainment for over 17 years and has performed in hundreds of shows, ranging from community events to corporate business parties. She currently works full-time in the field of child and family services, is a mother of 3, and continues to offer dance education and performance training to students of all ages. Outside of dancing, Angela enjoys spending time with her family & friends, home organization, reading, and yoga.
